Political Career
Jesse Ventura has had a very interesting and surprising political career. He joined the Reform Party, then later switched to the Independence Party. He first ran for Mayor of Brooklyn Park, and won with a surprising landslide of 63%. He then ran for Governor of Minnesota, and also won with 37%, beating Norm Coleman's 34% for the office of the 38th Governor of Minnesota. Soon, bumper stickers were made that said, "My Governor Can Beat Up Your Governor". After his term was up, he did not seek re-election. He was in office from 1991-1995. He also had the lowest approval rating of any Minnesota Governor. Jesse Ventura has had an extremely strange, surprising, exciting, and impressive political career.
